ABOUT ME

I came to counseling through a background in public health research, where I’ve spent the past eight years working to improve health and well-being at the population level.I see mental health as a public health issue because our well-being is shaped by far more than what happens within us. Our relationships, communities, environments, and access to resources all influence how we experience and understand our mental health.I see counseling as a space to make sense of your experiences, identify what matters to you, and explore what might help you move toward the life you want.My work is guided by a commitment to cultural humility and liberation-oriented practice. I want to create spaces that honor people’s lived experiences, knowledge, identities, and strengths, while supporting agency and hope.

Services Offered for Individuals

Individual counseling:Individual counseling is a collaborative space to explore what you’re experiencing, better understand yourself, and work toward the changes that matter to you. We can meet weekly, biweekly, or monthly for 50-minute sessions, whether you’re looking for short-term support or a longer-term therapeutic relationship. We’ll begin with an intake and develop your treatment goals together, drawing from different counseling approaches based on your needs and preferences.Consultation & Support CoachingConsultation and support coaching is a good fit when you have a specific goal in mind and would benefit from some structure, accountability, and support along the way. We’ll begin with an intake, identify a measurable goal, and develop an intervention plan based on evidence-based practices that you’ll carry out independently. Our meetings will focus on checking in on your progress, working through barriers, and adjusting your approach when needed.Career & Academic CounselingCareer and academic counseling can provide space to step back, clarify what you want, and make thoughtful decisions about your next steps. Together, we’ll identify goals related to your academic or professional life and draw on approaches commonly used in career counseling to help you move toward them. We can also work through practical pieces of the process, including résumé development, interviewing, and navigating career or academic transitions.

Services Offered for Groups

Group counseling experiences offer an opportunity to work on personal growth and healing alongside others who may be navigating similar experiences.

Interpersonal Process Groups
Interpersonal process groups offer a space to explore relationships, patterns of interaction, and the ways we experience ourselves in connection with other people. Through guided conversation and reflection, we can become more aware of the patterns we bring into relationships while having an opportunity to practice new ways of connecting, communicating, and being with others.
Skills-Based Groups
Skills-based groups provide a supportive, interactive setting to learn and practice practical mental health and wellness skills. Groups may focus on specific topics or skills depending on the needs and interests of members.
Reminiscence Groups
Reminiscence groups use guided reflection and shared storytelling to explore memories, experiences, relationships, and meaning across the lifespan. These groups create space to connect with others, reflect on the experiences that have shaped us, and honor the stories we carry.

Support Groups
Support groups bring people together around shared experiences and challenges. Offerings may include groups for caregivers, helping professionals, and others navigating experiences such as vicarious trauma and the emotional demands of caring for others. These groups are a place to connect with people who understand something about what you’re carrying and to not have to navigate it entirely alone.
Healing Circles
Healing circles offer a space for connection, reflection, and embodied approaches to healing. Drawing from somatic and drama-therapy-informed practices, these gatherings may incorporate movement, sound, storytelling, and other creative practices that invite us to explore healing through the body, through relationship, and in community.

Community Programming

Community WorkshopsCommunity workshops are accessible, low-commitment, ongoing opportunities to learn, practice, and connect around different mental health and wellness topics.I offer workshops regularly. They may include practical skills, guided reflection, and opportunities to learn alongside others in community setting. You can sign up for individual workshops or walk in when that option is available.

Co-Created ProgrammingMental health programming is most meaningful when it grows from the communities it is meant to serve. If there’s a workshop, group, or series you’d like to see offered, I welcome the opportunity to hear your ideas and explore what we could create together.
